Refund Policy

This policy explains how billing, cancellations, and refunds work for Salieno Core and for one-time purchases from the Salieno marketplace. We have kept it short and plain. If anything here is unclear, email us — the address is at the bottom.

In short

• Salieno Core is a $6.00 USD per month subscription, billed monthly in advance.
• There is a 30-day free trial. We collect your card when you sign up, but we do not charge it until day 30. Cancel before then and you are never charged.
• You can cancel anytime. Cancelling stops all future charges.
• There is no money-back guarantee. Amounts you have already paid are not refunded.
• When you cancel, your licence stays active until the end of the period you have already paid for, and then lapses.

How billing works

Salieno Core is licensed as a recurring subscription, not a one-time purchase. Paying the $6.00 USD monthly fee keeps your licence active and delivers free software updates for as long as it stays paid.

We bill in advance: each payment covers the month ahead. Payments are processed by Stripe using the card on file and charged automatically at the start of each billing period. Salieno never stores your card number — Stripe holds those details.

If a payment fails, your licence keeps working for seven days while we retry and email you. If it is still unpaid on or after the seventh day, the licence is suspended and a one-off $6.00 USD late fee is added to your account — a flat charge, once per unpaid billing period, collected on your next invoice. It is not interest and it does not grow over time.

The 30-day free trial

Every new subscription begins with a 30-day free trial.

• We collect a payment method when you sign up, but no charge is made during the trial.
• Your first charge is on day 30, unless you cancel before then.
• Cancel at any point during the trial and you are never charged. Your licence simply deactivates when the trial ends.
• The trial is once per account and once per installation domain. Resubscribing later starts a paid subscription with no second trial, and a domain that has already used its trial cannot be used for another one under a different account. If a domain has genuinely changed hands, contact us and we will release it.

The trial is your opportunity to evaluate Salieno Core before any money changes hands. Free trials are intended as one per customer, and we may decline or end a trial we reasonably believe is being abused.

Cancelling your subscription

You can cancel at any time from your Salieno account, or by emailing us.

• Cancelling stops all future charges. You will not be billed again after you cancel.
• Cancelling does not refund amounts already paid for the current or any earlier period.
• Your licence stays active until the end of the period you have already paid for. You keep full use and updates during that time.
• When that paid period ends, the licence lapses: it stops validating and you stop receiving updates. Because Salieno Core is self-hosted, your installed copy remains on your own server, but it is no longer licensed for continued use once the licence lapses.
• Coming back restarts the subscription you already had. You do not create a second one, and you keep the same licence key on the same installation. Any outstanding balance — such as a late fee — is collected as part of that same payment.

No money-back guarantee

We do not offer refunds of amounts already paid for the Salieno Core subscription. This applies whether you cancel partway through a paid month, stop using the software, or let the licence lapse.

We keep it this way because the model is designed to be fair without a refund window:

• Each payment only ever covers the month ahead — you never pre-pay for a long term.
• You can cancel anytime to stop the next charge, so you never pay for time you did not choose to keep.
• The 30-day free trial lets you try everything before you are charged at all.

Billing errors

The section above is about voluntary cancellations, not mistakes. If a genuine billing error occurs — for example, you were charged after cancelling, charged twice for the same period, or charged the wrong amount — contact us and we will investigate and correct it, including refunding any incorrect charge. This is separate from, and unaffected by, the no-refund position above.

Marketplace add-ons (one-time purchases)

The Salieno marketplace sells optional one-time add-ons — extra panels, payment gateways, domain registrars, and themes — that are delivered to your installation immediately on purchase.

Because these are digital goods delivered instantly, completed marketplace purchases are non-refundable, except where the add-on is materially faulty, does not work as described, or where your statutory rights require a refund. If an add-on you bought does not work, contact us and we will help resolve it.

Your statutory rights

Nothing in this policy limits any mandatory consumer-protection or distance-selling rights you may have under the laws that apply to you. Where those laws grant you a refund or cancellation right that this policy does not, those laws prevail. This policy is governed by [GOVERNING LAW — owner to set jurisdiction].

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. For material changes, we will notify active customers by email and update the "last updated" date above. Any change applies only going forward — it never changes the terms of charges already made.
